Identification the level of tendency in medication administration error of nursing students

This study was designed as descriptive study in order to determine the awareness of the nursing students in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades the rate medication errors and medical errors. The scope of the study consisted of the nursing and students (N=147) who attended the 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades of the university where the study was applied in November 2018-February 2019. The research was held with 138 students (n=138) who actively participated in the lectures during the research dates. The data of the research were gathered by directly applying the questionnaire consisting of questions including socio-demographic characteristics, medical questions caused by the medication errors and Medication Administration Error Survey-MAES. 79% (109 people) of the students were female and 21% (29 people) were male and the average age was 21.13 ± 1.25 (Min: 19, Max: 26). Nursing students were found to have higher average MAES-A and MAES-B. In this study, it was determined that the tendency of the medication errors of students decreased as the students' ages increased.
