The challenge of infodemic social media in the hybrid war: The case of the Libya civil war

Intelligence has been one of the most crucial means and institutions of states from past to present. Intelligence discipline is the first step of the information obtained by using many disparate approach, and the creation of a relevant policy and action plan by the relevant authorities. The effect of great wars, manpower and mass weapons can be non-destructive and profitable with the intelligence to be obtained compared to other approaches. Nowadays, intelligence services have gained a new area of activity with progressing digital medias and technological opportunities rapidly and using of social media widely. This field of activity has led to the use of disparate apparatus, social media in particular. While doing intelligence dredge for a specific subject about any country, invastigating on social media users make possible to determine of general reactions of the society about the subject. Furthermore, inspecting of the social media may lead to obtain genuine informations about how to guide and provoke the society by determining the sore points. It is seen that social media has the capability to guidance or provoke events in many incidents both our country and the world. Based on this, the present study is tried to reveal that social media is an assertive intelligence approach in the context of which guidance to societies and access tendencies in the light of the obtained data and the events that take place. Within the scope of this study, this issue will be discussed in the case of Libyan Civil War deeply.
