Abstract (EN)
Recently, hybrid applications of renewable energy sources are emphasized greatly. For this purpose, a home system was designed in which all necessary electricity and heat energy needs was provided by the hybrid use of renewable sources, without the need for electricity supplied by the grid and natural gas. The photovoltaic solar panels were utilized to generate the electricity need of the house and also for gasification of sawdust. The electricity generated by the photovoltaic-biomass hybrid system, was never stored in any kind battery. Instead, the produced gas, which is the result of gasification of the sawdust, is stored in the gasometer. The electricity generated from the photovoltaic panel was used only to meet the energy requirement during the period when the air conditioner was working in the house, and the remaining energy was completely used for the gasification process in this period. According to the results obtained from this study, it was found that the gas produced had a net calorific value of 12MJ/kg to 13MJ/kg when the gasifier unit operated continuously. During the periods when the air conditioner operated intermittently, the net calorific value of the gasification process was found in range of 11MJ/kg to 12MJ/kg. When two systems was put under scope, the amount of transformation of the thermal energy, which has obtained from the pipe type gasification reactor is 5,355 times higher than the electricity grid. Considering 2017 İzmir Bornova climate data, the modeled hybrid system for the Gama-type house produced 6.152,634m3 of gas per year (21.462,67kWht); the electricity generated by the PV panels were 5.156,94kWhe.
