A Glimpse at the poems of Hilmi Yavuz from the angle of religion, mysticism literature and traditional literature

VI ABSTRACT Hilmi Yavuz is the most important and alive Turkish poet who has taken advantage of religion-sufism and Classis Turkish Poem. I tried to bring to light the advantage style of Hilmi Yavuz about the subject feligion-sufism and Classic Turkish poem in may thesis of master of arts. Hilmi Yavuz, who has also established the theory of poem, thinks the poem as a made thing and gives importance to the theory more man the poem. There is an important parallelism between his understanding and classic Turkish Poem. Hilmi Yavuz uses the religion-sufism and Classic Turkish Poem as a mterial. If it is necessary for him to benefit from an image while making the poem, he does mis by taking advantage or our literature. His difference from the other poets who take advantage or religion-sufism and Classic Turkish Poem is mat he influences the backroun and the map of mentality of these customs. The origin of his understanding comes from his teacher Behcet Necatigil. I broughet about the life of Hilmi Yavuz, his understanding of poem and the introduction of his books inthe introduction part of my thesis, tn the first chapter I examined the poem of Hilmi Yavuz prom the rligious and sufic point of view, tn the second chapter I tried to mink the poem of Hilmi Yavuz as the Classic Turkish Poem. While I was examining from these points of view, I gave examples from the poems of Hilmi Yavuz. Hilmi Yavuz, who uses the tradition as a material, appropriates the understanding of post-modern literature which has appeared as a reaction against modernism is not distant from traditoans, religion, sufism and past cultures. The poem of Hilmi Yavuz is o revolt poem mat turns its back on modernism.
