Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to examine the physical fitness differences in obese and non-obese people with hypertension. In this study, after demographic information was recorded with the sociodemographic information form, data were collected: the person's posture was evaluated with a plumb bob, thorax expansion was measured with a tape measure over the xiphoid protrusion, the bottom of the axilla and the spinous protrusion of the 10th thoracic vertebra, waist circumference was measured with a tape measure between the subcostal region and the crista iliaca. measurement, flexibility assessment, tape measure for lateral flexion, rotation, hyperextension movements, 6-minute walk test to evaluate aerobic endurance, sit-to-stand test for anaerobic endurance, Berg balance scale for balance assessment, Nelson hand reaction test for reaction time, SF-36 Short to evaluate quality of life The Beck Depression Scale was used for depression. IBM SPSS Statistics 23 package program was used to analyze the data.According to the findings of thestudy, the 6-minute walk test showed a significant difference (P<0.05), the sit-to-stand test showed a significant difference (P<0.05), The BERG balance scale showed a significant difference (P<0.05), and the Nelson scale showed a significant difference in non-obese patients. It was determined that there was a significant difference (P<0.05), BECK depression test showed a significant difference (P<0.05), thorax expansion values showed a significant difference (P<0.05), and SF36 short form showed a significant difference (P<0.05).It was determined that the elasticity values did not show a significant difference between the groups (P>0.05). As a result of the study, a significant difference was found between obese and non-obese individuals with hypertension in terms of physical fitness and depression. Conclusion; Physiotherapists working in this field, obesity; It is recommended to consider that it affects endurance, balance, aerobic capacity, anaerobic capacity, depression and quality of life in individuals with hypertension, and to evaluate it in terms of endurance, balance, reaction time, quality of life and depression before determining an effective treatment program.
