Abstract (EN)
Aim: Hypopara Hypoparathyroidism may present with various symptoms and complications, and this may negatively affect the patients' quality of life by deteriorating their general well-being. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the quality of life and the influencing factors in hypoparathyroid patients. Materials and Methods: Our study is a cross-sectional study that included 40 patients diagnosed with hypoparathyroidism who applied to our hospital's Endocrinology clinic. Data were collected using sociodemographic characteristics, SF-36 Quality of Life Scale and Healthy Lifestyle Behaviors Scale-2. Additionally, biochemical and hormonal profiles of the patients were measured and recorded. Results: Our patients were 35 female and 5 male. As a result of the evaluation of the patients' quality of life and healthy lifestyle behaviors and the sociodemographic, clinical and laboratory findings affecting these, we showed that there was a relationship between the SF-36 subscale results and the variables of age, gender, education level, phosphorus, parathyroid hormone, hypoparathyroidism duration and number of hospitalizations. On the other hand, we did not find a significant relationship with the number of emergency admissions, calcium, magnesium, creatine, alt, albumin, TSH and T4 levels. There were significant relationships with the SYBD-2 subscale results and the variables of education level, number of emergency admissions and parathyroid hormone. On the other hand, we showed that there was no relationship between the SYBD-2 scale results and age, gender, education level, phosphorus, calcium, magnesium, creatine, alt, albumin, TSH, T4 levels, hypoparathyroidism duration and number of hospitalizations. Conclusion:In conclusion, when the effects of socio-demographic characteristics of hypoparathyroid patients on healthy lifestyle behaviors were examined, it was seen that marital status, education level, and occupational status were important interrelated factors affecting the individual's life. In addition, the study results showed that the biopsychosocial approach should be evaluated holistically in hypoparathyroid patients and that endocrinological and psychiatric problems should be defined jointly
