The philosophical basis of toleration

Due to their nature, human beings have to live together in order to be able to meet their needs. It is important how to overcome the difficulties associated with the necessity of coexistence. To create a sense of tolerance, it is important to establish the philosophical basis, possibilities, limitations and purpose of tolerance, which can overcome these difficulties of living together. In the first part, the concept of tolerance is presented as a solution to the problem of coexistence and the concepts of tolerance and tolerance used in the same sense are evaluated in terms of words and terms. In this work, historical progress of tolerance has been recorded as a philosophical problem. The second chapter studies, the existence of universal, and absolute truth. The effects of dogmatic and emprical understanding in tolerance, in human's search for truth. The possibilities, limitations and precaution are expressed in terms of tolerance, truth, freedom, social contract, power theory, democratic society and secularism. In the third chapter, philosophical foundations of tolerance are emphasized. The contribution to the tolerance of the power-hungry and social contractor on which the reasons for the differences that interfere with life are emphasized is examined. Democracy and secularism are evaluated in terms of tolerance. In addition, the West, the East, the Islamic world and today's tolerance are briefly reviewed. It must be known that in terms of all societies, tolerance is a fact whose importance be denied in ensuring social peace.
