An analysis of Hüseyin Yurttaş's children's books in terms of ten root values

Today, values education has become an important issue. Many studies have been carried out in this field, and the suitability of literary works in terms of values education has been questioned. This study, it is aimed to examine Hüseyin Yurttaş's children's books in terms of ten root values. In the study, nine children's books published by İşbank Culture Publications of the related author, root values (justice, friendship, honesty, self-control, patience, respect, love, responsibility, patriotism, benevolence) in the 2019 Turkish Language Curriculum (1st-8th Grade). ) were examined in the context. In the research, the document analysis technique, one of the qualitative research methods, was used. In the findings section, the data obtained under the relevant value title are presented with examples from the texts. Based on the findings obtained as a result of the study, it was concluded that Hüseyin Yurttaş's children's books were rich in terms of many of the ten root values. It has been observed that the author often implicitly includes values in his narratives, and especially the value of love is intense. It has been determined that these works are texts that can be used in terms of values education. In the study, a limited number of the author's works were examined. The author's other children's books can also be examined in terms of values education, and a more detailed value analysis can be made.
