Ibn Rushd's philosophy of education

This thesis includes the views of Ibn Rushd, who is known as the 12th century philosopher in the tradition of ancient philosophy, on education. Initially, our research begins by introducing Ibn Rushd's biography and his works. The first part of this study continues by giving information about the philosophy of education, philosophy and concepts on education. In the second part, general philosophical views of Ibn Rushd are introduced and presented. In fact, the thoughts expressed by the philosopher in the content of education and training are based on the concept of learning. In this context, the importance of learning in education and training is emphasized and the factors affecting learning are expressed. Afterwards, the characteristics required of a competent teacher, who is the preparatory element of the learning environment, are examined. In the third and last part, the educational aims, principles and methods in Ibn Rushd's philosophy of education are explained.
