Abstract (EN)

Throughout history, people have expressed their views on the existence and oneness of Allah. Knowing and imagining the being who created us in this world equipped us with various characteristics and most importantly gave us reason and informed us of his existence has been an issue that concerns almost everyone. In this context, theologians also wanted to know the creator they believed in. The focal point that theologians particularly focused on was to explain the subject within the framework of reason by adhering to the Quran and the hadiths of our Prophet regarding the essence and attributes of Allah. According to theologians, Allah has an essence and attributes. However, different interpretations have been made regarding his essence. Therefore, although different methods and methods have been preferred in knowing Allah, the conclusion they have reached is that Allah must exist and be one. The common point emphasized by almost all schools is the sensitivity to have a correct perception of Allah. In our study, we will examine the understanding of divinity of Ahmad al-Bajuri, one of the important scholars of the last period of Islamic sciences and an important figure in terms of theology. In this context, we will try to determine the approach of Ahmad al-Bajuri towards the essence and attributes of Allah. Indeed, it is obvious that the focus of the discussions on the subject of essence and attributes is Mu'tazila. In this study, the explanations of Bajuri, who followed the path of Ash'ari, especially towards Mu'tazila are extremely important. Since there was no previous study on Bajuri and almost all of the sources were in Arabic, this situation required an extremely meticulous study. Our aim is to reveal the perspective of Ahmad al-Bajuri, one of the scholars of the last period, towards the subjects of essence, attributes and divinity, to understand his approach to the issue and to grasp his method. Rather than writing works on the sciences of Aqaid, Kalam, Fiqh, Biography and many others, Ahmad al-Bajuri made a name for himself with the commentaries he brought to the books. Many of Bajuri's works have been published and some of his works have been taught as textbooks at the Al-Azhar University for years. One of the most important differences in his views is that he combines theology and Sufism and accepts inspiration and discovery as a source of knowledge. In our study, we will try to determine how this method of knowledge affects the way of discussing and evaluating the issues of divinity. Thus, our aim about al-Bajuri, who has not been studied in any way, is to pioneer his research in academic circles. The resources we will use throughout the thesis will be primary sources, classical sources of theology, and the books of Ahmet al-Bajuri. In addition, we will try to obtain material on the subject from other sources. We will examine his approach to the subject, and we will try to analyze his commentaries and evaluations on the subject in a comprehensive manner. In particular, although our author is closer to the Ash'ari School from the schools, in other words, he acts in parallel with this, he tries to explain the subject by making comparisons and criticizing when necessary, which will guide our study. A simple and fluent style that can be understood by everyone as much as possible has been preferred. Attention has been paid to the general evaluation of the subject with clear expressions in accordance with its purpose. When the relevant section of the works we will use is cited, it will be shown in the source section. Similarly, when the sources are cited in the footnote section on the pages, the sources will be indicated there by writing the page order number. In particular, some passages will be taken as they are and the subject evaluation will be made. We will try to pay attention to the prospective and descriptive nature of the examples we will give. We will try to present the method we will apply under subheadings for easier understanding and to pay attention to the integrity of the subject/descriptive sensitivity. Our study will consist of three parts. In the first part, Bâcûrî's life and scientific personality will be emphasized. In the second part, the thoughts on the attributes of Allah according to the schools of theology will be mentioned. In the third section, we aim to evaluate Bâcûrî's approach to the issue and conclude the topic.
