Abstract (EN)
Eleanor of Aquitaine is one of the many historical figure who has been focused by many research though scarce information about her in historical process. Researches focusing on her revealed that she was recognized as the biggest heiress due to her ownership of Aquitaine in Christian sphere. When she was just fifteen years old, she was crowned through the marriage to King VII. Louis in France. Meanwhile, she crusaded the second crusade in person before she divorced from King Louis when she returned from the second crusade. In 1154, She got married to Duke of Normandy, the King of England II. Henry; thus she was crowned as queen. She was accused of revolt through provoke her children against their father, then she was taken prisoner by Henry. She died in 1204 after sixteen years of captivity. This thesis aims to reveal her role in second crusade, her effect on relationship between France-England and Turkish-Islamic states. This thesis also aims to unveils how she could be crowned twice through examining the institutions of marriage and divorce in Europa in the twelfth century.
