Abstract (EN)

Interior permanent magnet synchronous motors (IPMSM) are widely used in HVAC (Heating, ventilation and air conditioning), fan and pump motors in the industrial and automotive sectors. With the developing software and hardware technologies, many studies are carried out to increase the efficiency of IPMSMs. As a result of the studies, it has been seen that field oriented control (FOC) and direct torque control (DTC) are widely used in the control of IPMSM. High switching frequency semiconductor power switches in inverters are controlled using different pulse width modulations (PWM). In this thesis, field oriented control of the IPMSM fed by a three-phase inverter was carried out at the fan load. Space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) method is used to control the three-phase inverter. STM32F031 microcontroller was used in application studies. An experimental setup was carried out to examine the response of the axial fan connected to the IPMSM. It has been observed that the voltage spikes do not exceed 3.6V by improving the current circuit with instantaneous voltage spikes up to 4.2V by working on the back electromagnetic force (EMF) detection circuit on the GMSM driver.
