The importance of education in economic development the attitudes of students toward technology and design lesson (Bolu city sample)

The aim of this research is, to determine student attitudes on the Technology and Design lesson which is existed in curriculum of 2006/2007 Education year at the primary schools and to explain the importance of education in economic development..Technology and design lesson is a new curriculum and it is absolutely different from act education?s target and behavior because of that student?s attitude towards the Technology and design lesson is researched.The research universe is 554 7th grade students from Bolu city?s center primary schools. Likert attitude scales have been developed by two test scale?s which are applied to four stages. These four stages are; to determine scale sentences, to prepare test scale, to apply test scale and reliability and availability analysis with SPSS program. As a result of the analysis, attitude scale which has 26 sentences has been developed. Scheffe or Tamhane variance analysis and Independent Sample T test are used to determine students? attitude. In research?s significance level is 0, 05. As a result of the research;1)Student attitudes? towards the Technology and Design Lesson were determined to be positive in general.2)Students do not reflect the attitudes are determined differently according to gender.3)Student attitudes? towards the measuring and evaluation methods were determined to be positive in general.4)Student?s attitudes towards the Technology and Design lesson was not affected by income level of their family were determined.5)Student?s attitude toward the Technology and Design lesson was affected by the behavior of teacher was determined.6)Student?s attitude toward the Technology and Design lesson was affected by the success of lesson has been identified.7)Student?s attitude toward the Technology and Design lesson was affected by the overall success of all lesson but students overall success was not affected students? attitudes toward the teachers.8)Students are most like the generation of fiction. Students' attitudes were changing according to generations have been indentified.At the end of the research, recommendations which were based on research findings are also included.
