Abstract (EN)
Our study included a total of 381 hospitalized and operated ileus cases between the ages of 17-95 who were admitted to Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University Faculty of Medicine/ Ankara Atatürk Training and Research Hospital Emergency Service between January 2009 and June 2014 and were confirmed diagnosis of ileus by operation. 58.0% (n=221) of our patients were male, 42.0% (n=160) were female, their average age was 61 years. In our study, 32% of our cases had ileus due to malignancies, 28% had brid ileus, and 20% had hernias. It was observed that the presence of chronic diseases had a statistically significant effect on the complication rate, hospitalization period and mortality. There is a statistically significant relationship between preoperative period hemoglobin (Hgb), hematocrit (htc), urea, creatinine, lymphocyte count, neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio (Nlr), albumin level, lactate dehydrogenase (Ldh) level, operation time and development of complication. There was no statistically significant relationship between white blood cell (wbc), neutrophil count and development of complications. In the analysis performed, it was found that there was a statistically significant relationship between preoperative urea, asthma, hgb, htc, LDH levels and length of stay and mortality, and there was no statistically significant relationship between wbc level, operation time and mortality. The importance of the operation after preoperative medication should be emphasized, especially in patients who are clinically more comfortable and who are not thought to have complicated ileus. In addition to this, it should be kept in mind that the surgeon must recognize the cases with complicated ileus that require early surgical treatment and also the early surgical procedure before deterioration of the patient's condition is life-saving.
