Elementary school teachers' attitudes toward the use of educational tools in class settings

Continuously and rapidly developing technology is changing the world of education as it all the other areas in life. And educational tools used by the teachers to make the courses more efficient are also affected by this change. Today, many new educational tools are being used in classrooms as computers, electronic whiteboards, projection devices etc alongside with the more traditional ones, such as blackboards. Thus teachers' attitudes play a very important role in selecting and utilizing the equipment (educational tools) to be used in education.By this research it was aimed to find out public and private elementary school teachers' attitudes towards the use of course materials. The sample of the research had been selected randomly from the teachers who work in the public and private elementary schools in the district of Yıldırım, in Bursa City. The research was conducted with 110 teachers from the above schools.As a result, female, unmarried ones, those who work in private schools, who served in first level of the elementary schools, young ones, less in seniority, graduated from the Faculty of Education, teachers with a MA / PhD degrees, teachers graduated from classroom teaching, teaching in less crowded classes and who had had Educational Technology course or participated in related seminars were found to have more positive attitudes toward the use of educational materials.
