Investigate of the effects of students' turkish lesson?s academic self-concept on students' achievements

This research was done for the purpose of finding out the elementary school students? development of the relationship between academic self concept and achievements, concerning Turkish lesson. Academic self concept is andicator of students? himself at school and how he is perceived according to the students in his class. Academic self concept has the power to determine the future success. This research is being survey method, in this study, introducing existing condition, restrictions specified and purposes framework, a kind of descriptive research. Sampling students have been tested, developed by the reseacher ?Academic Self Concept Scale? and ?Achievement Test?.The obtained data have been resolved through SPSS 15.0 statical program, during the analysis; T-Test for arithmetic average, Standard deviation and gender variable. Analysis of variance has been used for mother?s and father?s educational background, family?s monthly income, Marks in the exam and success variable. Sheffe Test has been used to identify interfactional relation?s significance.Result of research findings, show that most of the students who joined the research have either medium level or high level, academic self concept concerning Turkish lesson. It has been found, according to the students who attend the school?s different standarts; there have been significant difference the students? view of academic self concept scale, concerning Turkish lesson. According to the general situation, it can be said that schools? SBS (for attending a diffucult exam to go a good school in Turkey) success level gets higher, also student?s academic self concept scale, concerning Turkish lesson.According to the gender, there had been found significant differences, the students? view academic self concept scale, concerning Turkish lesson. It is thought that the cause of such differentiation; the female students who joined this research, getting higher scores than the male students in Turkish achievement test. According to the gender, it can be interpreted that the female students? opinions on academic self concelpt scale are more positive than the male students? view. According to the mothers? educational background, there have been significant differences; the elementary students? view of academic self concept scale, concerning Turkish lesson. According to the general situation, when the mothers? educational level get higher, the students? respond to academic self concept scale, average scores are getting higher.According to the fathers? educational background, there have been significant differences; the elementary students? view of academic self concept scale, concerning Turkish lesson. According to the general situation, when the fathers? educational level get higher, the students? respond to academic self concept scale, average scores are getting higher.According to the students? state revenue, there have been significant differences academic self concept scale, concerning Turkish lesson. The state revenue of the families are getting higher, students? academic self concept scale level gets higher. According to the students? previous year success, there have been significant differences academic self concept scale, concerning Turkish lesson. According to the general situation, it can be said that when the success level increases, the students? academic self concept level increase. According to the gender, the elementary students who have Turkish achievement test scores are significantly different. According to the general situation, According to the mothers? educatioanal level; there have been significant differences in Turkish achievement test; their scores get higher. According to the fathers? educatioanal level; there have been significant differences in Turkish achievement test; their scores get higher. According to the general situation, when the father?s education level gets higher, the students in elementary school; it can be said that their Turkish lesson achievement tests score get higher. According to the state revenue of the family, there have been a significant differences in their Turkish achievement test. According to the general situation, when the state revenue gets higher in the family, elementary students? Turkish lesson achievement test score gets higher. According to the students? previous year/term success, there have been significant differences Turkish achievement test score. According to these findings, the elementary students who have very high and high score in Turkish achievement test scores are getting higher. Elementary school students? of academic self concept scale and Turkish achievement test score, there is no significant difference.
