Teacher's perception regarding strategies used by primary school principal's to resolve the conflicts

The aim of this research is to examine the teachers? perception about the conflict resolving strategies of primary schools principals. In this research ?screening? model was used. The survey, prepared by the researcher, was filled out by teachers working in 20 official schools in İstanbul province Kucukcekmce municipality. The approved results of 505 surveys are transferred to the SPSS programme. The demographic properties of the teachers are solved with descriptive statistical analysis method. Data?s frequency distribution, average values and standard deviations are represented in tables and graphically. Multi variable statistical method called Factors Analysis was applied to the values obtained with the scale of self - sufficiency to define sub dimensions of the samples. Using the independent T test, the obtained sub dimensions were analyzed if they differ according to the demographic properties. Graphics were represented by MS Excel and the statistical analyses were made with SPSS ver 13.0. According to the Independent T test?s results, one of the sub dimensions is difference of perception between the male and female teachers in case of ?The ability of principals to offer problem solving suggestions?. Thus, the male teachers, contrarily to the female teachers, assessed higher their principal?s solution suggestions while faced with problems when resolving the conflicts. On the other hand, another sub dimension is difference of perception between the class teachers and the branch teachers in case of ?Principals fair behavior against parties in a conflict?.
