An evaluation of teachers opinions on the new primary school curriculum applied in primary schools

The aim in the research is to determine the views of teachers on new primary curriculum performed in the grade 1. and 8. of the ministry of education and adverse events about the curriculum.Also,another purpose is to arrange the funtion of the curriculum performed in primary schools,its integration within society and find out if course content makes any difference depending on teacher?s gender,seniority,the colleges graduated from,the grades they performed at.The problems during the practice of curriculum has been examined on the basis of demographic factores.Population is compromised of branch teachers and form teachers in primary schools Ümraniye in İstanbul in school year of 2009 2010;the sample is compromised of 241 form teachers selected randomly in 22 primary schoolsThe research datas are gathered through a poll formed of 2 section.In the first part of the survey,program?s adjustment to society,course content and assesment and evaluation are refered;in the second part of it,negative conditions in the practice of program Teachers have been negotiated one to one in order to support poll?s dataCroncbach Alpha co efficient has been calculated for reliability.Croncbach Alpha co efficient `s been 0,834 for the 1.part and 0.788 for the 2. oneThere are indications below as a result of the research:?Teachers think that students? presentations of their work in the class environment help growth of self confidence.?Teachers thin that students get investigative personality by acquiring the ability to ask question an the skill of wonder.?Teachers suppose that while assesing and evaluating at the end of acquirements, it is a positive method to take into account of not only result but also period of work.?Teachers have an aggrement on that while there is too many class size,it is impossible to obtain effciency?Teachers consider that there are too many documents set up required on the steps of teachig lesson and evaluation of it.?Teachers thin that students go towards currently information in the internet environment rather than apply to different resources so it does not help realizing intended learning.?The branch teachers find lecturing and lesson content highly positive rather than claas teachers.No significiant differences could be found out in other evaluations and problems with respect to analysis of demographic factors
