Social science/primery school teacher?s approach related with usage of project method in social scinece education in elemantary education

The aim of this research is to detect teacher?s approach towards benefits of usage of Project Method which becomes widespread and more of an issue within the frame of constructivist approach and contemporary education applications in the teaching of social sciences lessons in elementary education in terms of skill improvement and learning environment participation and attention to the lesson. For that purpose, likert scale, composed of 24 questions having qualification expressing advantages and restrictions and situations after or in due course of usage of Project Method in education, is generated. This scale is performed to a group, chosen as a sample, consisting 120 fellows who are elementary school teachers and social science teachers carrying out a duty in Muradiye District, Van, at the time 2008-2009 academic year second semester. All the data acquired are evaluated. Descriptive coefficient and reliability analyses are performed to determine the construct validity of scale. Significance level is taken as 0, 05 during research. It is measured by using t-test that whether there is significant difference between gender or not and whether there is significant difference between branches or not. As a conclusion, an argument by social science teachers and elementary school teachers in sample group examined is observed as using project method has affirmative contribution to education and it is observed that they have positive attitudes towards method.
