The prediction of academic achievement level of the fourth grade students metacognitive awareness

This study was conducted to predict the academic purpose of metacognitive intelligence of primary school fourth grade students. Relational survey method, one of the quantitative data collection methods, was used in the study. The study group was selected according to a simple random experiment. It consists of 526 fourth grade students working in five different primary schools affiliated to the Directorate of National Education in the province of Niğde in the 2021-2022 academic year. As the data collection tool of the research, "Metacognitive Awareness Scale for Children (ÜBFÖ-Ç) A formula, personal information formula and academic achievement test (Turkish, mathematics, science and technology and social studies)" were used. In the calculation of metacognitive ability, the validity of the structure was checked and exploratory factor analysis (EFA) was performed. SPSS 25 was used as good data analysis in terms of study variables. In the research; Mann Whitney U test was used for gender, pre-school education status variables, Kruskall Wallis test was used for parent education region, economic status and number of siblings. In terms of the variables of the research, the window variables between the gender of the metacognitive data streams, the status of receiving pre-school education, the educational status of the parents, the economic status of the family and the number of siblings were created. To test the academic achievement model, a Structural Equation Model (SEM) was created and analyzes were made in the IBM AMOS version 23. The final model explained 35% of the top management that also guides academic achievement to the predictor. According to the research group, the metacognitive information algorithm has a positive and direct effect on medium academic achievement.
