Abstract (EN)

Life and working conditions that change in paralel with development in tecnology also bring along stress notion. Stress have importance as a direct effect factor on workers? health and productivity. So that guarding against determination and elimination of stres factors in work environment come out as a must. Considering this fact, this research is executed on the purpose to support protecting health of employees in educational institutions and lower the factors that decrease productivity by examining primary schools? managers? organizational stress sources and determining most effective stress source and offering solutions to remove it. In this study, predicated on primary schools? managers? opinions, organizational stress sources are examined whether there is statistically significant difference due to managers? gender, age, seniority in management, assignment title, number of teachers at school, attendance to course, seminar or in-house training on education management. Descriptive scan model is used in the research. Total field under survey consist of 130 managers who works in 2012-2013 academic year at official primary schools that are under management of Ministry of Education, located in Sultanbeyli district of Istanbul. Accordingly scales are applied to 122 managers in total chosen from that field by random method. 35-question Organizational Stress Sources Scale evolved by Pehlivan (1993) is used to determine organizational stress sources. Scale is composed of 3 subdimensions as stress level about work, stress level about organizational structure and policy, stress about role at work, relations and personality structures. To analysis the input data, frequency and percent values of demographic features are examined by using SPSS 15.0 Package Programme; Independent Groups T Test is used to define whether managers? points taken from Organizational Stress Level Scale differ as per managers? gender and attendance to education management training based on points taken from scales; Kruskal Wallis-H Test is used as to whether points differ as per managers? age and Mann Whitney U Test is used for defining between which groups there is significant difference; ANOVA (Unidirectional Variance Analysis) is used to determine whether points differ as per managers? seniority in administration and number of teachers at school; Mann Whitney-U Test is done to determine whether differ as per assignment title. Acquired datas are encoded in computer environment, are resolved in SPSS 15.0 Programme (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences), significance is tested minimum at p<,05 level, other significance levels are specified separately and findings are presented in tables suitable for the purposes of survey. In research result it is determined that; organizational stress level of managers differs significantly due to number of teachers at school; stress level about role at work and personality structures differs due to gender, age, assignment title and number of techers at school; stress level about organizational structure and policy differs as per age and assignment title; stress level about work differ as per assignment title; seniority in administration and attendance to education management training are not effective factors on organizational stress sources.
