Abstract (EN)

Islamic thought experienced the most active and rapid changes in the III. century is the century of firsts in every respect. On the one hand, the Mu'tazila who center a mind that is intertwined with philosophy, and on the other hand, the Ashâbü'l-Hadis, who only accept the verses of the Qur'an and the Hadiths, became the representatives of the two distinctive thoughts of this period. This period, in which Imam Abu'l-Hasan al-Ash'ari, one of the leading personalities of the Ahl as-Sunnah, who was a student of scholars from these two sections at different periods of his life, was raised, is a period in which Islamic thought passed through many phases and matured. At the same time, the city of Basra, the environment in which he was born, was one of the cities with a strong intellectual accumulation of the period.
