Eschatology in Imam Al-Qurtubi

In the part of the Kalam known as "sam'iyyât", the titles of death, posthumous; fitan/malahim and signs of doomsday, have the contents corresponding to the unseen field, they can only be informed about them by scriptures. The abovementioned titles, which are mentioned in the expressions of certainty in terms of both proven and indication, and that have these features because of their faithful binding, have also been frequently addressed by the transcendental sciences of Islam and have become shaped by more than one discipline. In this context, the voluminous work of al-Qurtubî, written by a tafsir scholar about this topics within the kalam, al-Tadhkirah is worthy of examination. Furthermore, the tafsir of al-Qurtubi, that is featured in the fiqh, al-Jami'li Ahkam al-Qur'an is also partly a source of the related bets. In this study, the opinions of Imam al-Qurtubi on the subject are examined in an introduction and three chapters with the top title of eschatology. In the introduction part, the life, teachers, students and works of Imam al-Qurtubî; in the first part, al-Qurtubi's views on the issues of death and grave, in the second part, his views on the issues of fitan/malahim and signs of doomsday, and in the last part, his views on the issues of doomsday and the Hereafter will be discussed. In this way; verses, hadiths, the controversial points of the Ahl al-Sunnah and Mutazila schools are described in the framework of the discourse of Imam al-Qurtubi. As a result, it is revealed that Qurtubî, which is known to be deepened in the science of tafsir, differentiates it from the kalam in detail by discussing some issues that are not emphasized in the science of kalam in al-Tadhkirah; and in controversial points, it has been revealed that it exhibits an approach thar requires theology method.
