Abstract (EN)

This study was conducted to examine the relationship between attitudes toward infertility, vaccine hesitancy, and fertility awareness. The sample for this cross-sectional study consisted of 431 women aged 18–49 who visited Kilis Prof. Dr. Alaeddin Yavaşca State Hospital. The data for the study were collected using the Individual Identification Form, the Attitude Toward Infertility Scale, the Fertility Awareness Scale, and the Vaccine Hesitancy Scale through face-to-face interviews between February 2024 and February 2025. The data obtained in the study were analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences for Windows 25.0. The DataBeeg 1.0 program was used to validate and report the data. Descriptive statistical methods (number, percentage, min-max values, mean, standard deviation), t-test, one-way analysis of variance, Pearson correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis were used to evaluate the data. Multiple regression analysis was applied in accordance with the established models. The results were interpreted at a 95% confidence level and a significance level of <0.05. The mean score for the Attitude Toward Infertility Scale was 27.19±7.52; the mean score for the Vaccine Hesitancy Scale was 32.26±5.83; and the mean score for the Fertility Awareness Scale was 64.22±10.31. Age, weight, education level, employment status, social security, certain obstetric characteristics, chronic and psychological illnesses were found to have a significant effect on the mean scores of all scales. Monthly income was found to have a significant effect on the mean scores of the Attitude Toward Infertility Scale and the Fertility Awareness Scale, while place of residence and marital status were found to have a significant effect on the mean score of the Attitude Toward Infertility Scale. A statistically significant and negative correlation was found between the Infertility Attitude Scale score and the Vaccine Hesitancy Scale score and the Fertility Awareness Scale score. As a result, as women's attitudes toward infertility improve, vaccine hesitancy levels increase and fertility awareness levels decrease.
