Abstract (EN)

Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is the most common malignant primary brain tumor and is reported to result in mortality. With a multimodal treatment approach, surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy, survival can be extended up to two years. Although survival can be extended for a short time with a multidisciplinary approach, no definitive treatment for GBM has been found. TFB-TBOA is a powerful compound that blocks glutamate transporters, which play an important role in the nervous system. In simpler terms, it affects nerve communication by blocking the functioning of certain proteins in the brain (glutamate transporters). Glutamate is the most common excitatory neurotransmitter in the brain. It enables communication between nerve cells. However, excessive glutamate can damage neurons and lead to various neurological diseases. We aimed to increase the penetration of hydrothermal green cerium oxide cells due to its environmental friendliness, low energy consumption, high safety, homogeneity, biocompatibility and nanoparticle nature. The aim of this thesis is to investigate the cytotoxic effect of TFB-TBOA Modified Green Hydrothermal Synthesis Ce2O3 Nanoparticles on the U87 mg cell line by increasing their penetration into GBM cells and which molecular pathways it affects.
