Abstract (EN)

Today, improvements taking place in the fields of sociology, economy, and technology are bringing about considerable innovations in many areas. One of the ways to keep up with the requirements of the modern age is to conduct training activities. In fact, in-service training activities carried out in private or governmental organizations to meet the needs of employees are of great importance for employees and organizations alike. For organizations, providing high-quality, effective, and efficient services, depend on having well-educated and highly-qualified work force. In-service training activities ensure that employees will gain the knowledge, skills, and attitudes that will inspire them with the motivation necessary for them to do their jobs well. Employees who do their jobs willingly have a high level of motivation; and the higher the level of motivation, the higher the job performance. Within this context, in-service training activities have been found to be a crucial factor that makes a positive effect on the motivation of employees. Within the scope of this research, the relationship between in-service training activities carried out as part of human resources management and the job motivation of white-collar workers employed in a municipality has been studied, with special focus on the effect of in-service training on job motivation. In this study, survey method has been employed. Data obtained through questionnaire have been analysed by using IBM SPSS Statistics 23 program. In the analysis of the data gathered; t test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), Pearson correlation analysis, and linear regression analysis have been carried out. The correlation analysis conducted as part of the research points to a positive and meaningful correlation between in-service training and job motivation. Similarly, the findings obtained from regression analysis reveal that in-service training has a positive effect on job motivation. Key words: In-service training, Job motivation, Municipality, White collar.
