Abstract (EN)

This study aims to examine in detail the practices affecting the retention of Generation Y in human resources management and the impact of these practices. A case study which is qualitative research method was used. Since it is a sector where technology is used intensively and technological knowledge and skills of Generation Y are important in this sector, the research was conducted with three banks operating in the Turkish banking sector. Interviews were made with HR managers and / or branch managers of banks using semi-structured interview form consisting of 21 questions. Descriptive analysis and content analysis were used in the analysis of this study. According to the findings, institutions attach importance to the generation Y because of their creative ideas, technological knowledge and skills, and features open to change and development. Institutions are adopting new strategies in human resources practices due to the fact that this generation has different values and behaviors than previous generations and the possibility of rapid job change. HR strategies positively affect the retention of this generation.
