Abstract (EN)

Economic, social and technological developments and differentiation together with today's continuous change and intense living conditions increase the level of pressure on working individuals. As a result of this pressure, it is known that burnout syndrome, such as unwillingness to work, feeling unsuccessful, feeling worn-out, loss of power and energy, occurs in working individuals. In addition, conflicts may arise between the roles that are owned and tried to be overcome in business and family life, which constitute a large part of human life. The occurrence of burnout in addition to the presence of work-family conflict can cause the employees to become clear about the intention to quit and eventually to quit their jobs. In this context, it can be argued that the human factor, which is one of the most important production factors that add value to the enterprises, should work efficiently in the organization and increase the organizational commitment. It is predicted that the aforementioned efforts will have a positive effect on the intention to quit and lead businesses to success. Within the framework of the relationships between work-family conflict, burnout and intention to quit, this research aimed to reveal whether burnout plays a mediating role in the relationship between work-family conflict and intention to quit. While conducting an analysis based on secondary source data within the scope of the research, the existence of this relationship was analyzed for 139 of the middle and upper level managers working in the enterprises operating in the Ankara-Sincan Industrial Zone. As a result of the analysis, it was determined that the significant beta coefficient emerging in the first model decreased in the fourth model. Looking at the analysis as a whole, it was concluded that burnout plays a partial mediating role in the relationships between work-family conflict and intention to quit. In addition, according to the analysis conducted within the scope of the research, it could be claimed that the additional burden brought about by the work-family conflict and partial burnout syndrome that working individuals have experienced due to the pressure brought by the different roles they undertake may trigger the intention to quit.
