Systematic literature review of studies on the subject of light

Main purpose of the educational systems is not only to pass on the information to the individuals but also teach them how to obtain the information and support the learning process as well. Teaching science, on the other hand, mainly focuses on the process called ''Art of Thought''. Of the many subjects, "The Light" has an important place in science. It also has an important role in the physical world we live in. Thus, it holds an important place in teaching science. Therefore, In Türkiye, the subject "light" is taught at science lessons at all levels including primary schools, secondary schools and high schools according to National Education Curriculum. This research/Work was designed using qualitative method. Research Model is systematic literature survey. In this research, postgraduate theses published in Türkiye, between the years 2012-2022 and the articles on this subject, which were obtained by scanning the database of TR dizin, Education Resources Information Center (ERIC) and Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI), were chosen as study materials. Two forms were prepared for the literature review which were in the scope of the research. The first one of these two forms was used for the postgraduate theses and the second one was used for the reviewing of the articles.47 postgraduate theses and 51 domestic and foreign articles that make up the research sample were chosen according to specified inclusion and exclusion criteria. In this research we came up with conclusions that , the number of master theses is more than that of the doctorate theses, the year 2019 is the year with the highest number of theses in total, the number of the pages that were written in the postgraduate theses is much more than those of the doctorate theses, the articles written by one author show that there are also individiual studies that hold an important place among others, the results that were obtained show that scientific researches take place in a wide range and that they use a variety of research patterns and models.
