Abstract (EN)
The Scythians were active in a wide geography extending from Siberia to Eastern Europe from approximately the 8th century BC to the 2nd century BC. They formed the first and oldest of the Turkic equestrian tribes civilizations. Undoubtedly, the influence of this long-lasting and powerful civilization of the Scythians continued on the subsequent Turkish and Eastern European civilizations. As a result of this situation, Scythians, who had an active history, were mentioned in the sources of many ancient civilizations. Apart from written sources, rich archaeological finds also provide us with important information about the religious beliefs, culture, social life and economic structure of the Scythians, who are frequently mentioned in Chinese, Assyrian and Median, Persian, Greek and Roman sources. The artifacts obtained in archaeological excavations guide us about the arts of the Scythians, whose language, religion, customs and traditions we have information about from ancient sources. The historical roots of the Celts, who were active in Western and Central Europe and had a profound influence on today's European tribes, date back to the Bronze Age. The Celts, who are the ancestors of most of the people called Scots, Irish and Welsh today, were active between the 8th century BC and the 1st century AD. Like the Scythians, the most extensive information about the Celts, who did not leave written works, can be found in Roman and Greek sources, with which they had commercial, social and cultural interactions, and in the archaeological finds that have survived to the present day. As a result, the religious, economic, social and cultural structures of the ancient Scythian and Celtic communities, which were shaped in almost the same periods, and the comparison of these aspects constitute the main subject of our study.
