Abstract (EN)

Although workaholism is a concept that needs to be understood with many individual, environmental and organizational factors, today's rapidly changing work world plays an important role in directing individuals to work more and increasing the tendency of workaholism. Workaholism, which has an effect on many variables, also leads to an increase in work stress in employees. The aim of the study is to determine the relationship between workaholism and work stress. In this context, data were collected from 401 individuals working in the private and public sector in Istanbul. Participants were determined by convenience sampling method. Survey method was used in data collection. SPSS program was used in data processing and analysis. The results of the study show that the "sense of responsibility" dimension of workaholism positively and significantly affects work stress, while the "working hard" dimension does not have a significant effect on work stress. The study is expected to assist organizations and employees in making due diligence on relevant issues, reviewing and improving their practices and resources. In addition, due to the limited number of studies that deal with the two variables together at the graduate level, it is thought that the study will especially contribute to the domestic literature.
