Abstract (EN)
Examining the two major disciplines of Islamic thought, Kalam and philosophy, it is seen that they often refer to sophists and sophistical philosophy. Philosophers, whey they study the information of the Kalam scholars and sophists at the beginning of their works; they do it within the titles of logic, theology and reflection (nazar). The followers of Kalam and philosophy tradition not only conveyed the sophists and their problems, but also produced solutions within certain dimensions. As a result of the solutions produced, views of knowledge are also relatively shaped. This study examines the reception and analysis of the perspectives of the philosophical and kalamic traditions and the sophistic philosophy within a contextual framework. In the face of the fact that the Sophists emerged in the ancient Greek world, the factors that led to the incarnation of the sophists and their thoughts were examined with a contextual reading and in which areas the main ideas were concentrated. In doing so, it was questioned to what extent their thoughts were reflected in the Islamic tradition and hence accepted. For this purpose, first of all, the peripatetic philosophers such as Fârâbî (d. 950), İbn Sînâ (d. 1037) and Ibn Rushd (d. 1198), who were members of the Mashshai tradition, were examined. Finally, Fahreddin er-Râzî (d. 1210), who had an important place in the merging point between Kalam and philosophy, is emphasized and the level reached by the sophists and the sophist-style philosophy is depicted.
