Mahr in Islamic law in the context of change

Changes in the life affect societies and require the regulation of legal rules accordingly. In this study, we discussed the effect of change on Islamic law. Since it is the law of the last religion that will be valid until the hereafter, it is also related to change in terms of meeting the needs of all times and stability in terms of protecting the basic principles of Islamic law and ensuring the legal security of Muslim societies. In the contemporary literature, theoretical evaluations have been made on the relationship of Islamic law with the context of change. It is important to base the opinions put forward on this subject on various examples in the field of furû' l-fiqh, in terms of understanding the reality of the subject in the field of practice by removing it from the theoretical level. In our study, the subject has been tried to be processed through the example of mahr. In the thesis, which is based on the belief that it can change in accordance with the century, besides the unchanging constants that form the basis of the stability of Islamic law, the subject is examined in three parts. In the first section, general information about the context of change in Islamic law is given. In the second section, the concept and provisions of the mahr are examined, and in the third part, the opinions about the mahr are tried to be interpreted in terms of the aspects related and about to the context of change.
