Corporate performance management in business and balanced scorecard application in a service business

The concept of corporate performance management, which aims to improve the performance of a business holistically, may differ in practice for all private or public enterprises. Although corporate performance management practices vary from business to business, they have a fundamental importance and priority. In today's world where competition between companies has increased, the main purpose of profit-oriented private businesses is to achieve sustainable growth and create an organization that demonstrates high corporate performance. Corporate performance management practices increase the management quality of private enterprises and enable them to provide better quality service to their customers. One of the first and most important elements of establishing an effective and effective performance management in businesses is to determine the dimensions of the performance indicators to be evaluated and to create a performance measurement set consisting of measurable, concrete and objective criteria that will enable the measurement of these dimensions. Regularly monitoring the results of the determined performance indicators and mobilizing the entire organization for indicators that do not reach the targeted performance value play a very important role in providing businesses with a sustainable performance approach and success. In this study, the concept of corporate performance management was examined and the Balanced Scorecard approach was discussed as an applicable method in a private enterprise operating in the energy sector and explained with application. Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) approach was used in the adaptation of the Scorecard method to a private enterprise operating in the energy sector, and as a result, a model that can be used in corporate performance management not only by enterprises operating in the energy sector but also by all enterprises, whether private or public institutions, has been introduced.
