Tales in the point of functional theory and the evaluation of the state of tales in today's Kütahya

This study aims approaching to tale in the point of functional theory and determining the situation, place and function of tale in today's Kütahya and analyzing them.To get this aim we prepared a questionnaire consisting eighteen questions of which seventeen are multiple-choise questions and one is open-ended question.This questionnaire was applied to 235 Secondary School and High School pupils chosen randomly and also voluntarily in the centre of Kütahya.The study is based on the evalvation of the data obtained throughout the questionnaire.First, the answer of the participants were evaluated without considering different variables and then shown on tables and graphics.Then the questions of questionnaire were examined according to the age and gender variables and then the results were shown as tables.The answers were compared accrding to age and gender variables.As the 18 th question was open-ended, the answers were interpreted in a different way.But the relationship among the variables wasn't examined by taking into consideration whether it was meaningful or not. Except for these, the study includes the context and shape of tale, general information on compilation area, observations and problems faced during the compilation, studies carried out about Turkish tales in previous years, a common view on Folk Literature from the point of functional theory and the contribution of tales on child development and education.
