Abstract (EN)

This thesis examines the poetry of Ismail Sabri Pasha, a prominent intellectual figure in Egypt's modernization period, focusing on its thematic and artistic dimensions. The study analyzes his elegies, panegyrics, patriotic verses, and socially engaged poems within the socio-political context of his time, highlighting how these works reflect both personal sensitivity and collective memory. It aims to explore how Sabri Pasha combined the classical Arabic poetic tradition with modern literary elements, thereby establishing an aesthetic bridge between Eastern and Western literatures. The rhetorical devices in his poetry—such as jinās (paronomasia), ṭibāq (antithesis), and takrīr (repetition)—are examined in terms of their technical and semantic aspects, shedding light on the poet's linguistic mastery and expressive depth. Moreover, the study investigates the poet's influence on the literary environment of his era and assesses the contribution of his works to the literary discourse of the time. The thesis concludes that Ismail Sabri Pasha's poetry serves both as a historical document and as a unique example of the fusion between classical and modern literary aesthetics in the Arabic literary tradition.
