Effects of diferent irrigation water levels on tuber development and quality of potato (Solanum tuberosum l.) plant in Isparta ecological conditions

This study was carried out in a randomized block design with three replications in order to examine the effect of different irrigation regimes on tuber yield and quality parameters of Agria potato (finger potato, industrial) variety in 2021 at Isparta University of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Agriculture, Agricultural Research and Application Farm. In the study, using the drip irrigation method, five different irrigation water levels (S1: applying irrigation water up to 120% of the seven-day ETo total, S2: applying 90% of the seven-day ETo total, S3: 60% of the seven-day ETo total. 1 irrigation water application, S4: 30% irrigation water application of seven-day ETo total, S5: no irrigation application) was applied. The amount of applied irrigation water varied between 85.7-639.3 mm and evapotranspiration between 296.5-825.2 mm according to the subjects. Potato plant height is between 48.43-70.67 cm, number of main stems is between 2.83-4.47, leaf area index is between 1.00-3.03, number of tubers per plant is between 5.39-8.04, tuber yield per plant is between 304.27-1089.30 g/plant, average tuber weight is between 58.01-135.71 g, total tuber yield is between 12.96-46.11 t/ha, marketable tuber yield is between 6.37-40.59 t/ha, amorphous tuber ratio is between 1.53-18.18%, cracked tuber ratio is between 3.74-8.66%, tuber specific gravity value between 1.06-1.08 g/cm3, starch ratio between 13.29-15.39%, dry matter ratio between 17.74-21.06% and brix values between 4.98-5.79%. The yield response factor (ky) was calculated as 1.19. The water use efficiency ranged between 43.69-55.88 kg/ha/mm and the irrigation water use efficiency values varied between 32.34-51.86 kg/ha/mm.
