The role of communication skills of administrators, who work at highschools in Arnavutköy Istanbul, on teacher's motivation and academic effeteness

This study is intended to determine the role of communication skills of the administrators, who work at high schools in Arnavutköy İstanbul, on teachers ` motivation and academic effeteness. In accordance with this purpose, a questionnaire form consisting of personal information form and scales of communication skills, motivation and academic effeteness was conducted on 205 teachers working in Arnavutköy İstanbul in 2012-2013 academic year and accepting to fill in the form.The data gathered from the questionnaire were analyzed in computer environment through statistical package for social sciences.(SPSS 17.0) Frequency and percentage statistics were used in determining democraphic features of participants; averaging and standard deviation statistics were used in determining the level of participants in effeteness, motivation and their level of communication skills towards administrators; and correlation analysis was used in determining the correlation.Regression analysis was used in determining the role of administrators? communication skills on teachers? motivation and their academic effeteness.The results of this study revealed that communication skills of school administrators statistically have significant effect on motivation and academic effeteness level of teachers. The results also revealed that as communication skills level of the administrators develop, the motivation level of teachers increase and academic effeteness of them decrease.Key words: Communication Skills, Motivation, Academic Effeteness.
