Abstract (EN)

Within the scope of the thesis study, the moderating role of leader-member exchange in the effect of impression management tactics on social loafing of retail sector employees with a busy work schedule was tested. Accordingly, a survey was conducted with employees working in chain markets operating in the retail sector in Konya province. The research was conducted with 394 participants in middle-level manager, lower-level manager and employee positions. The data obtained using convenience sampling method were subjected to frequency, normality tests, validity and reliability analyses, and correlation analysis. SPSS Process Macro 1 plug-in Model 1 was used for hypothesis testing. According to the correlation analysis findings, it was determined that the scales were positively correlated with each other. However, it was determined that there was no statistically significant relationship between some sub-dimensions. In addition, according to the regression analysis findings, it was determined that impression management tactics and leader-member exchange had a statistically significant and positive effect on social loafing. As a result of testing the moderating effect, it was determined that the quality of leader-member exchange had a moderating effect on the effect of impression management tactics on social loafing.
