Abstract (EN)
The objective of this research is to determine the perceptions of the teachers working in elementary schools on whistleblowing and organizational commitment and by identifying the correlation between whitleblowing and organizational development, to develop recommandations to its implementers and researchers. The research has been applied to 496 teachers working in 25 elementary schools within the provincial borders of İzmir in 2013-2014 academic year. To collect the research data, Whistleblowing Inventory and Organizational Commitment Inventory for Teachers were used. In data analysis frequency, percentage (%), arithmetic average (x), standard deviation (Ss), t-Test, Anova, Scheffe Test and whether there is a correlation between whistleblowing and organizational commitment according to the perceptions of the teachers were determined by Pearson Correlation Coefficient techniques. The findings of the research indicate that the teachers' perception on whistleblowing concentrates on "I agree" and their perception on organizational commitment concentrates on "Mostly". According to the findings of the research, there is not a significant discrepancy in the evaluation of the elementary school teachers' whistleblowing levels, in relation to the gender variable. A significant discrepancy has been noticed within the anonymous and supportive sub-dimensions of the whistleblowing inventory and throughout the entire inventory, in relation to the marital status variable of the teachers. In relation to the seniority variable of the teachers, a significant discrepancy was noticed throughout the entire inventory, but one within the exterior and supportive dimension was not remarked. A significant discrepancy was determined throughout the entire inventory and within the interior whistleblowing dimension in relation to their education level variable. It became evident that there is a significant discrepancy in the evalution of the whistleblowing levels of the teachers in relation to their field of study variable. In relation to the marital status, field of study and professional seniority, there is not a significant discrepancy in the evaluation of the elementary school teachers' organizational commitment levels. However, in relation to gender variable, a significant discrepancy in the teachers' organizational commitment levels was found. It has been seen that there is a little, significant correlation in a positive way, between elementary school teachers' perceptions on whistleblowing and orgazinational commitment. Key Words: Whistleblowing, organizational commitment
