Abstract (EN)

Objective: This study was carried out to determine the effects of different irrigation water levels on the parcel yield, water consumption, water use efficiency and on some yield and also quality parameters in the bean plant by using the drip irrigation method. Material and Methods: In this study was used a Bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) which is widely produced in the region. The trial was established on the agricultural land in the İzmir Ödemiş Gölcük-Karşıyaka-Boğaz Plateaus Irrigation Cooperative Operation area. The study was established according to the randomized plot trial design with 3 replications and 5 irrigation water levels (100%, 75%, 50%, 25%, 0% irrigation). The method used in the research was drip irrigation. In determining irrigation times, reference plant water consumption values (ETo) calculated according to the FAO – Penman Monteith method during the 7-day irrigation interval were used. During the flowering period until the final harvest; Plant height (cm), number of pods per plant (pcs/bean), parcel yield (kg/da), pod weight (g), number of leaves (pcs) were measured. Results: The applied irrigations significantly affected the bean plot yield and some yield and quality parameters. According to the seasonal plant water consumption varied between 69-520 mm depending on irrigation issues. Parcel yield varied between 144-1400 kg/da. The highest yield was obtained as 1400 kg/da from S1 (100%) subject, where water restriction was not applied. Temperature WUE values varied between 1.48-2.69 kg/m3. Conclusion: This research emphasizes increasing water management in the production of beans in İzmir Ödemiş region. Investigating some quality values obtained from bean plants, significant decrease in yield was observed at low irrigation levels. As a result, where the water source was not limited and the irrigation was complete applied (100%) as per S1 subject, is the best irrigation. If the water resource in the region is limited, it can be concluded that the efficiency of the S3 issue with (50%) water restriction will be suitable in return for WUE and yield. Key Words: Bean, drip irrigation, limited irrigation, yield reduction rate, yield-quality parameters.
