Abstract (EN)

Ceramics have been the most widely and extensively found material in archaeological research and excavations. As a result of the researches and excavations carried out in İznik, the tiles being the most important production of the region and it has kept its popularity until today. The city of İznik, which has been frequently mentioned in recent times, has been on the agenda with the basilica structure discovered underwater in 2014. The most extensive group of artifacts are ceramics as a result of the researches and excavations in the basilica structure in İznik Lake. The prepared ceramic typology of the basilica includes table, kitchen, storage and transport wares for daily use such as bowl, plate, jug, dish, pot/stewpan, amphora and oil lamp. The period in which the ceramic finds were concentrated was the Roman Period as a result of the comparisons and evaluations The ceramic finds, which are evaluated with a typological and chronological classification, have been tried to find an answer to this question: Do the ceramic finds belong to the basilica structure or can we speak of the existence of another structure?
