The hybridization among oranda, ryukin and fringetail varieties of goldfish (Carassius auratus L.)

Abstract (EN)

In this study; environmental conditions, sex determination, sexual maturity, reproduction season, eggs laying, crossing of varieties, fecundity, eggs hatching, larval feeding and the characteristics of hybrids of goldfish were determined. In order to determine the characteristics of hybrids; survival rate, coloration, having single or double tail and anal fin, body and head structures, anomalies and similarity rates with parents depend on characteristics above were investigated. According to hybridization results, the similarity rate with parents were the lowest (10.06 %) in Oranda S x Veiltail Ş and ( 9.22 %) Veiltail $x Oranda Ş, and the higest (47.75 %) in Ryukin S x Oranda Ş. Productive results were not obtained when varietes which have same characteristics were crossed. The most productive results were obtained from crossing of Oranda x Ryukin and Ryukin x Veiltail.
