Abstract (EN)

Technological advances and the rapidly changing world are causing significant transformations in the areas of interest of individuals. In the past, activities that attracted the attention of individuals were simple games and traditional handicrafts, but today, thanks to augmented reality technologies, it has become possible for individuals to have experiences in a digital environment. Such innovations attract the attention of individuals and encourage them to participate more effectively. In line with the changes mentioned, the educational content and presentation formats offered to individuals should also be reshaped. Educational processes should be developed based on the analysis of content that individuals can easily focus on and attract attention. Value education can be conveyed through different media channels and methods as a result of these developments. This research aims to examine anime, which is an important part of Far Eastern culture that is rapidly becoming popular and easily accessible in the digital age. It is aimed to conduct an analysis on Death Note, which has attracted great interest especially among young people in Turkey. Content analysis was used as a method in this research and the anime was handled thematically. Afterwards, semi-structured interviews were conducted with a group that followed the content and the obtained data were systematically analyzed and included in the research. The findings of the research reveal that the Death Note anime covers the themes of religion, value and morality. In the interviews, it was determined that the participants were affected by the anime they watched and that it had a significant effect on their moral development. The methods used, themes and visual content of the anime make learning permanent and provide an effective educational tool. These results allow for the development of suggestions for more effective presentation of values education and religious education in the digital age.
