Abstract (EN)
Existentialism is basically a philosophy that advocates that one can create his own values and establish his own future. Existentialism, represented by philosophers such as Martin Heidegger, Karl Jaspers, Gabriel Marcel and Maurice Merleau-Ponty, took its philosophical foundations from philosophers such as Nietzsche, Kierkegaard and Husserl and eventually turned into theory with Jean Paul Sartre. The main starting point of the philosophy of existence byJean Paul Sartre, which has an impact beyond its own age, is to examine the difference between the existence of human and other objects. The human being, like other objects, does not have a determined essencebefore its existence. According to Sartre, who doesn't believe in existence of God, if there is no God man does not have a predetermined essence by God, and in this context, even though he exists as anything"that is there"to exist, he has a consciousness unlike other things, through which first he exists and then determineshis essence by choosing freely. Therefore, human beings are doomed to freedom. A person who becomes a self for himself by going out of existence with his free choices becomes self. The condition of being an individual is living according to the free choices of the individual, not according to the value judgments of the society, and Sartre states that the people living outside these authentic beings live in stickiness with the others and that the authentic human being alienated among others feels nausea. According to Sartre, who is the subject of the thesis and places the relationship of the self with the other in the philosophy of existence, it is impossible for me to be able to interfere with the other, since everyone has something secret that will prevent my freedom and authentic existence which is without essential content. In the thesis, after the presentation of the preliminary information on the subject, the main subject of the thesis, Self's Relationship with the Other, is problematized and the basis of Sartre philosophy on, Freedom of Being for Himself, responsibility, alienation, nothingness, doomed to freedom, limits of freedom, self-responsibility, body and vision concepts will be examined.
