Abstract (EN)

This study investigates the relationship between marital satisfaction, depression and anxiety levels in married women over the age of 18. In the literature, although studies examining the relationship between marital satisfaction and depression are mostly seen, there are not many studies examining the relationship between marital satisfaction and anxiety. When we look at the researches, it has been seen that the satisfaction that married women get from marriage reduces the risk of depression. In this study, we also planned to investigate the relationship between marital satisfaction and anxiety, and aimed to find out that marital satisfaction reduces the risk of experiencing anxiety. There are studies supporting this in the literature. In similar studies, it is seen that there is a negative relationship between marital satisfaction and depression score. There are also studies supporting that there is a negative relationship between marital satisfaction and anxiety. Participants from the provinces of Kayseri and Istanbul will be recruited to the research. In this context, marital satisfaction and depression and anxiety levels of married women living in Anatolia and the West will also be examined. Our main goal in this study is to investigate the relationship between marital satisfaction and depression and the relationship between marital satisfaction and anxiety. Relational screening model will be used in our research. Married women over the age of 18 will be able to participate in our research with the simple sampling method. For this purpose, it is aimed to work with 324 samples consisting of married women over 18 years of age from the provinces of Kayseri and Istanbul. Beck Depression Scale, Beck Anxiety Scale, Marriage Life Scale and Personal Information Form were used to collect data in order to conduct this research on married women over the age of 18. Descriptive statistics such as frequency, percentage, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, minimum and maximum were used in the analysis of the data. Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, one of the normality distribution tests, was used in the analysis of the data, and parametric tests were used since the normality assumptions were provided as a result of the analysis. As a result of the research, it was found that there was a negative, normal level between marital satisfaction and beck anxiety; There is a negative, strong and significant relationship between beck depression. In addition, there is a positive, strong and significant relationship between beck anxiety and beck depression. It has been found that as the marital satisfaction of individuals increases in their married life, their anxiety and depression levels tend to decrease.
