Abstract (EN)

Four hundred and sixty sedentary women who completed the surveys in Sakarya were included in the study. Perceived stress level, quality of life, and change in exercise behaviour survey were applied. One way ANOVA, LSD test and Student - t test were used in the study. The average age of sedentary women was 31, 59 years. 44.78% of the women stated that their health conditions were good, 19.78% were very good and 11.9% were bad. Although women's stress scores were 31.84 before the trend, they were 28.03 in the continuity phase. The quality of life subscale scores were found to be 23.87 in the duration of continuity, even though the body was 21.22 before the trend. In the mental state, 21.08 were found in those who were in the continuity stage despite the presence of 19.74 before the trend. On the social subscale, the score of 9.87 before the inclination was found to be 10.62 in the continuity phase and in the case of the environment it was determined that 26.55 in the continuity phase although it was 24,90 before the trend. In sedentary women, the stress scores of the pre-trend and post-shift stages were significantly higher than those of the exercise and behavioural stages (p<0.05). Also, the mean scores of the quality of life subscale were significantly lower in the sedentary women than in the movement and continuity phases in the pre-trend and trend stages compared to the exercise behaviour change stages (p<0.05). Consequently; the perceived stress levels of sedentary women according to their exercise behaviour change stages were high before the tendency and low during the exercise but quality of life scores increased during continuity. Sedentary women should increase the percentage of continuity in exercise behaviours steps to reduce perceived stress level and improve quality of life. Stress level and quality of life level according to exercise behaviour change stages should be investigated in a large number of sedentary women and men in different regions in Turkey and they should be trained on exercise planning.
