Abstract (EN)

In this study, particularly, the experimental design method which has proven success in the optimization problems and ensures the quality of product at the design stage, is analyzed. Taguchi Method, an experimental design technique using orthogonal arrays to reduce number of experiments greatly and to minimize the impact of uncontrollable factors by identifying the factors that may cause loss of quality, constitutes a large part of the study. This study consists of three parts. In the first part, the basic concepts of quality, design of experiments and optimization methods based on experimental design are described. In the second part, an overview is given about Taguchi method such as limitations, implementation steps, and data analysis. Also, in this part, previous works about Taguchi method and critical reviews of this method are given. In the third part, general information about industries which the method will be apply on, is given. Also, multi-response problems and the procedure about the optimization are described. At the end of the study, Taguchi method was applied to the robotic gas metal arc welding process and the results obtained from the model are interpreted.Key Words: Design of Experiment, Taguchi Method, Robotic Gas Metal Arc Welding
