Abstract (EN)

In recent years, the number of university graduates has increased significantly thanks to the developing and growing channels of education. This could be regarded as one of the factors that leads to the increased competition in professional life. However, the activities, that used to be presented by Human Resources Departments in the past, have been presented by the consulting companies recently. Besides this, the needs and importance of Career Planning Centers have been elevated by the students at universities because of their interests for post-graduate.The significance of "career" as a concept, which has been used quite often in the literature of Human Resources Management, has recently increased. Theoretical studies on career have been primarily evaluated within the framework of individuals. Matching individuals with occupations had already been an issue of examination while the studies thereafter have been based mainly on organizational matters. A major concern has been on the integration of individual and organizational objectives. This dissertation comprises five main chapters. In the first chapter,it provides a conceptual frameworkfor the career place. In the second part, the career management is examined in accordance with the relevant sub-headings of concepts in career management. In the third chapter, career management and career strategy models are covered. The fourth and final section, some survey data are presented and analyzed in SPSS order to identify the career strategies which are used by the employees in public institutions.
