Abstract (EN)
A strong financial sector is needed for a country's economy to be strong. The main building blocks of the financial sector are banks. The existence of a strong, successful and profitable banking system is extremely important for the development of the country's economy. In this study; after mentioning the definition, importance, functions and history of banking, performances of three state banks operating in Turkey are compared. The comparison involves the years 2010-2016. In this range, data from Association of Banks of Turkey of the three banks are obtained for ratios. The analysis is completed with 28 selected ratios using the Topsis Method in the analysis. As a result of the analysis, the banks are ranked according to their scores. The bank with the highest score is in the first place and the bank with the lowest score is the third.
